Traffic solutions

Traffic has generally been a problem among all countries for sometime now. It is always in leaders agenda that needs to get improved and rules are implemented just to reduce this dilemma. Normally, it would be your lucky day if you did not encounter traffic. You have a reason to smile the entire day just because you have started the day in a good mood. Traffic can either be consisted pf vehicular, pedestrian or even when using other public modes of transportation.

Laws are being implemented and developed over time to facilitate orderliness and timely flow of this kind of problem. If you are a motorist there are general rules applied when driving. Road users need to give special importance and are required to follow these traffic solutions.

Here are some good traffic solutions that a concerned citizen should follow. These are:

• Find a carpool partner, vanpool, bus, or School Pool family
• Walk if your destination is quite close which also helps you lessen transportation cost such as gas, parking fees, etc.
• Encourage use of bikes which at the same time is environmentally friendly, healthy and less transportation cost also
• Use public transport such as taxis, buses, and subways.
• Telecommuting is an option
• Following proper road signs, traffic lights, and speed limits when driving

Some bad traffic solutions are:

• Sometimes roads don’t have marked lanes, so the drivers frequently overtake other cars vehicles which end up in road accidents.
• traffic jam are sometimes a result of intersections having no signs especially if four vehicles face each other side-on.
• Too many pedestrian crossings.
• One way streets which speeds up traffic flow but actually doesn’t work because it causes stationary traffic.

With the uprise of all goods in our archipelago. It seems that each and every one are affected in some way. Since my sister and I bought a new car (second hand), I have been thinking of good ways of how to save gas as much as possible. It is kinda hard nowadays to spend your hard earned money so we all must learn how. Must save but enjoy driving the car as well.

1. Try to Survey Out first
Gasoline prices change almost every week. Depending on the market and I have no idea how they base it. But try to observe from a normal standpoint. While you drive around the Metro, look at gasoline stations where you drive on a routine basis. I found out that Makati has much higher gasoline prices compared to my hometown Manila or even in Ortigas where I work. So there, I make sure that's where I pump up gas. It's cheaper by a few centavos and that for me is a big thing.

2. Carpool
That's what my sister and I are doing these days. Instead of bringing our own cars. We do carpools. Look for friends and officemates who work and live near you. Try to share the gas expenses. It's also going to be fun!

3. Turn off the aircon
Since Christmas season has begun already, and you might feel a bit of a breeze. Now is the perfect time to turn the AC off. Especially at night time, trust me it would save you from paying a big amount of gas bills.

4. Use extra reward cards when filling up your car
There are special promotions in different gasoline stations. You get reward points whenever you fill up your tank. SM Advantage gives out extra points whenever you pay up your gas.

5. Finish your errands in one day
Make sure at the end of the day your errands are all accomplished. Try to plan it early so that when you use the car, all the gas was worth it.

6. No more silly road trips and wild sprees.
Control it first. Hold on to those silly thoughts of suddenly driving in the middle of the night and to the middle of nowhere. Remember it's also dangerous driving around nowadays. Think of your safety. If possible don't go to places you are not familiar with and always bring someone with you if you really have to go.

7. If your destination is quite near don't bring the car. Commute.
There is nothing wrong if you commute. It's the most practical thing of all. Cheaper and saves a lot of gas. Plus you get exercise as well.

8. Drafting Technique
This means to drive behind large vehicles. This has to do with aerodynamics using the trail winds of large vehicles and you can also increase speed without accumulating a lot of gas. Just make sure you are an experienced driver when doing technique

9. Be Neutral
Since a lot of cars are in automatic mode already. Always place it in neutral mode. It will prevent you from pressing on the gas pedal. This technique is also known as coasting.

10. Avoid making unecessary stops.
Go to the comfort room before leaving. Eat lunch or bring food in the car if allowed. Avoid stopping over if possible.

Live a little. You need that.

Move on. I need that.
